Handling Fees

Domestic mail: US$1.00, except US$.50 if we use a flat-rate Priority Mail envelope or box.
International mail: US$1.50, except US$1.00 if we use a flat-rate Priority Mail International envelope or box.

We charge a fee for handling an order. The fee is intended to recoup part of the cost of handling the order, and depends mainly on the average amount of time spent for the type of shipment, as follows:

For domestic orders (mailed to a U.S. address) the handling fee is $1.00, because we usually have to spend time packaging the item, sealing the box, weighing the shipment, looking up the postal zone, and looking up the postage. However, if we use a flat-rate Priority Mail envelope or box, the fee is only fifty cents because we can skip most of the steps and just put the item in the free envelope or box, put postage on it, and put it in our mail box to be picked up.

For international orders, the handling fee is US$1.50 because of the more complex conditions of looking up the postage options, and the additional work in filling out the customs form. However, if we use a flat-rate Priority Mail International envelope or box, the handling fee is only US$1.00 for the same reasons given for a flat-rate Priority Mail envelope or box for domestic mail. Please note that Priority Mail International is not available to some countries.

If an order is shipped in two or more parcels, the handling charge will be applied to only one of the parcels, so that the single handling fee will apply to the entire order. If at least one of the parcels is not flat-rate and at least one is flat-rate, the handling fee for the order will be the non-flat-rate handling fee.
